About the Model Runner
The EMDC Model Runner is our web-based service for running DayCent® and MEMS models without installing or managing the software locally. It provides secure access to supported models through the platform, allowing users to submit model runs, manage simulations, and access results from a single interface.
Access to Model Runner requires an appropriate license and an active billing account. Licensing requirements vary depending on your organization and intended use.
Before you can use the Model Runner
Create your account
- Register for a platform account.
- The EMDC Team will verify the licensing requirements for your account before granting access to the Model Runner.
- You will receive 25 free credits to test our Model Runner.
- If you want to buy more credits, please contact us. The EMDC will follow up with you about the licensing requirements.
Complete Model Runner access setup
- Review and sign the required license agreement.
- Provide a valid payment method for usage billing.
- Receive approval and Model Runner access.
- Additional credit usage is billed monthly. Accounts must remain in good standing to maintain access to Model Runner.
Licensing Requirements
Individual Researchers
Users affiliated with a research organization can request access to the Model Runner after affiliation verification.
- Must sign a noncommercial Model Runner license for both DayCent and MEMS before the first model run.
- A valid payment method provided by the user is required to maintain an active account.
Research Member Organizations
Users affiliated with a participating research member organization do not need to sign an individual license.
- The organization signs a noncommercial Model Runner license covering both DayCent and MEMS.
- A valid payment method must be provided by either the user or the organization.
Individual Consultants
Consultants and other users who are not affiliated with a participating member organization or a verified research institution must obtain a commercial license.
- Must sign a commercial Model Runner license for the model(s) they intend to use before the first paid model run.
- A valid payment method provided by the user is required to maintain an active account.
Commercial Member Organizations
Users employed by a participating commercial member organization are covered under their organization's commercial license.
- No individual license is required.
- The organization signs the commercial Model Runner license for the applicable model(s).
- A valid organizational payment method is required to maintain access.

Billing
All Model Runner users must have a valid payment method on file before access is granted.
Each user receives an annual allocation of usage credits. Once the included credits are exhausted, additional usage is billed monthly to the user or their organization, as applicable. Accounts must remain in good standing to maintain access to Model Runner.
