Use of the Platform and Accounts

The Platform provides access to curated versions of public-domain datasets and tools to run models via our API. Information about where to access public-domain datasets is available without registration. Registration is required to download curated or hosted datasets and to use certain Platform features.

To register, you must provide accurate information (first and last name, email, organization affiliation, country, and, if required, organization address). You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under your account.

Software policy

Software access and use imply that the user has accepted the software's Terms of Use. Use of any software available through the Platform for commercial purposes is permitted only with a valid commercial license. Distribution and sublicensing are not permitted unless for academic publishing requirements. The executable files cannot be decompiled, and the user agrees not to hold CSU liable for any derivative work, product, costs, expenses, claims, or demands arising from the use of Consortium software.

API File Processing

Users may upload files to run models via the API. Files are processed only to perform the requested model run, cached temporarily to support execution, and automatically deleted after processing. We do not store, retain, or analyze uploaded files beyond what is necessary. Users retain ownership and responsibility for their files and must not upload illegal, harmful, or infringing content.

Data policy

Information about public-domain datasets is freely available, while registration is required to download curated datasets. Curated datasets provided on the Platform may only be used in accordance with these Terms and any applicable licenses. Users may not redistribute curated datasets without permission. If no license agreement is assigned, the data should be considered to be under the Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0 license (restrictions, notices, and legal code can be found here).

User Responsibilities and Intellectual Property

You agree not to violate laws, upload harmful content, bypass Platform security, or misuse the Platform in any way. All Platform content, including curated datasets, software, and documentation, is protected by intellectual property laws. Users are granted a limited right to access and use content for the Platform's intended purposes only.

Disclaimers, Liability, and Termination

The Platform and all services, including API processing, are provided "as-is" without warranties. We do not guarantee continuous availability or file retention beyond temporary caching. We are not responsible for third-party content or actions.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or legal obligations. Upon termination, access to the Platform and any cached files ends.

Governing Law, Compliance, and Changes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado and by the compliance, governance, and data protection requirements of Colorado State University. We may update these Terms from time to time, and continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
